*puts on her best Martin-Sheen-as-Josiah-Bartlett voice*
I entered 2012 an unpublished author, so my goals were all about querying and finding perfect homes for my odd little bits of words. (yes, Two in Winter, I called you “odd,” again.)
Going into 2013, I have a bit more on my plate.
First, we’re going to send the Ushers out in style. Cracked releases on March 1st, and I couldn’t be more excited to see it off into the world. Of course I’m sad about the series coming to an end, but in actuality, I finished the book back in April, so I’ve had time to get used to the idea.
Next, and this one is huge for me, my first gay romance, Shifter’s Song, will be released March 8th by Musa Publishing. Shifter’s Song is the second story I’ve written for the Wiccan Haus shared world series. Once again, it features a big brawny bear shifter from the Bonsaint clan–Edouard–and he’s going to meet his match in Lincoln Tucker, the guyliner-wearing pop music sensation who shifts into a songbird at will.
Any of you remember me tweeting about a plot bunny hopping into my office wearing a bear suit and waving a flag that says “Hi, I’m from 1912!” ? Yeah, that bunny turned into a real story called Ripped Awake and it will be published sometime in the spring. Wheee!
Which brings us to works in progress:
Hostile Beauty, a gay contemporary romance with a beauty and the beast trope is just about done and ready to go to my beta readers for some throttling, another round of revisions and it will go out on submission.
Shifter’s Blood will tell the story of the last Bonsaint brother, Bruno, and a female vampire to whom he is reluctantly and indelibly tied. This story will take place at the Wiccan Haus, and y’all know how Sarka feels about vampires.
And an as-yet-unnamed-collaboration with Liza Gaines is in the works as well. Liza’s debut novel, Little Bird, will be coming out in August from Musa Publishing, and let me tell you, it’s a stunner. Working with Liza is one hell of a treat, and I can’t SQUEEEE! enough about our joint project. What I can divulge: it’s a straight up contemporary with tortured hero and heroine, and we don’t plan on holding anything back. SQUEEE!
Okay, now I’m just teasing, aren’t I? Still in the works, a spinoff series from the Ushers, and writing as Campbell Benson, my space opera, Little Wing.
Bring it on 2013, I’m ready for you.
As always, thank you so much for reading. It’s been a wonderful year, and I am grateful to be able to have shared it with you.
